Wheat
Wheat is a single annual herbaceous plant from the wheat family that has beencultivated all over the world. It is heavily preferred in continental climate. Along withcorn, it is the most cultivated grain source in the world. It is a basic foodstuff used inthe flour and feed industry. The husk (bran) can be separated or it also can begrinded without separating. It contains starch and protein substances necessary fornutrition in a fairly appropriate proportion. Because of this, it has been the mostimportant food item of people in almost every period. When given to ruminants otherthan sheep and goats, it should be broken or crushed roughly. Otherwise, a significant portion of the wheat eaten is excreted with feces without being digested. It is the most preferred grain source after corn in poultry feeding.
