Corn Germ
Corn germ, a by-product of the starch industry, is a raw material with high fat content obtained by separating corn bu physical methods as a result of wet processing. Is is also called the embryo of corn or rusheymi. Depending on the separation of the corn derivaties in the corn germ, it contains between 40% and 45% oil. A corn germ contained in broken and dissolved corn grains contained in masaration water is separated from the grains by staying above the water. Corn germ oil and Oily Corn germ meal are obtained as a result of squeezing corn germ with presses and taken some oil in it. When the oily corn germ meal is extracted, low fat, high protein corn germ meal is obtained.
