As with any plant, sunflower husk is the part that protects the grain from external factors. It is a product obtained by processing the kernel for snack or oil. About 21% to 30% of the oil sonflower consists of husk. In snack foods, the rate of the husk increases even more. As the oil content of sunflower seed increases, the amount of husk decreases. Sunflower husk is used as filler in animal nutrition with its high cellulose content, as well as a fuel.
